The goal of Great River Medical Center Laboratory is to improve patient care by providing clinical and pathology services that are accurate, appropriate, and timely for the patients, physicians, and other health care providers associated with Great River Health Systems.
Our staff is committed to meeting the complex needs and high standards of the region’s healthcare providers as well as the individual patient. Our clients’ needs are always foremost to us and we continually strive to improve the manner in which our services are delivered.
Great River Medical Center Laboratory performs approximately 500,000 billable tests annually providing reliable, timely, and cost-effective test results in the areas of chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, anatomic pathology, and cytology. The Core Laboratory provides 24-hour service, 7 days a week. The outpatient drawing area is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Great River Medical Center Laboratory also provides additional specimen testing through our reference laboratory sites:
• Mayo Medical Laboratories
• University of Iowa Laboratory Services
• University of Iowa Hygienic Laboratory
Our Laboratory maintains a current CLIA number with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
